Bleeding Paragraphs
For the next few weeks I’ll be writing, well, grading and writing. One of my classmates said he has been “bleeding paragraphs” and I really liked the phrase. Writing is a profession where most will tell you how difficult and at times painful it is to practice – fiction writers to journalists to academics. Then there are those golden moments where everything just flows, but usually there are a lot of false starts before that happens.
I’m writing the lit review of the first draft of my thesis proposal and I’m almost to the point where I’ve really got things organized. It was so helpful to have been a research assistant last semester and to know the professional research process, at least one person’s view of it, for a book chapter. So anyway, just a little bit more on the organization and review, then it’s on to the real writing. I just have to finish this first draft (hopefully today) then it’s on to writing my last term paper as a masters student, and an abstract for a conference paper. One thing at a time.
