I think an aggregator sounds good for keeping up with people and helping new people figure out who is doing what where.

Kristin, I agree - I don't like re-friending people, but I like the services I have. As for marketing, I think they have a long way to go in terms of using the data effectively. Most ultra targeted gmail and facebook ads today seem to use just a tiny bit of this info. I'd like to see studies of this. I'm sure the industry, at least, has done them.

Yes to the aggregator page, Chris! As for the rest, I worry about the future of privacy, in that we are all (me included) so quick to embrace SNS software and then search for ways to synch. it up, because...we can? Because it seems convenient? At what point are we aggregating everything we do online across multiple 2.0 platforms and handing it to Google as a gift - here is your target market, and here is everything you want to know about them, and here is one neat access point that ties up everything they are doing online?

I have web2.0 fatigue. I am sick of signing up for stuff that all my friends are also signed up for, and having the same group of people on 9 different SNS sites. When is 3.0 rolling out? I hear in that version, lolcats plays a much more prominent role, but the bad news is that the entire internet turns into a giant multilevel marketing database known as the semantic web. But...more lolcats, so.....yeah!

I struggle with a similar problem regularly. As you've done, I've linked Twitter updates to Facebook and ... that's about it. I've crafted the frontpage of aetherial.net to be exclusively an aggregation of my services, including Last.FM, LibraryThing, and the like (in addition to the blog and del.icio.us feeds).

I can't say that I think it's been successful from a hits-per-day perspective, as my daily page visits are quite low (~150 views per week), but I'm quite fine with that at the moment. I keep project-specific blogs and those do orders of magnitude more traffic than my personal site.

One idea that I've been rolling around in my head (and thought that you might be interested) is to create an aggregator page for the folks in the MTS/TSB programs. I'm always interested in learning more about what some of you are up to, and this can be difficult to tease out online. I don't know if you (or anyone else in the programs) would be interested in participating - but let me know if you think the idea has legs.
