I am an Assistant Professor in the Media and Communication department at Erasmus University Rotterdam. I earned my Ph.D. in the Media, Technology and Society program, part of the School of Communication at Northwestern University. There I studied new media’s impact on selective exposure to political communication using multiple research methods. For my dissertation research I collected real-world web data, surveys, and in-person interviews from the same participants. For more about my research and teaching see my CV.
My dissertation was an in-depth analysis of how and why news consumers filter media content and the role of digital technologies in the information selection process.
